Pytanie #1:

My male cat goes crazy at night. Why does he do this?

We have a one year old cat. We got him at 10 weeks. He did this when we first got him. After my kids go to bed and things are quiet, he starts darting around the house knocking things over, attacking our old cat and waking the kids. I put him in the bathroom for about 5 minites. Sometimes this works but usually not. Any ideas? He is an indoor cat
He was neutered at 14 weeks. I thought this would calm him down.

Pytanie #2:

Kind of long story? Your Take on it?

For about 2 months now, I had been aching over my rejection by a guy I loved deeply who I thought, stupidly, that he loved me back.

He can't have a girlfriend because he said to everyone, even his best friend (whom I found out from later) because he is Muslim. There's just no way ..

He used to stare at me, into my eyes forever as he passed by me walking, he used to stare at me every day at lunch at school. Amazing guy, everything I had ever wanted.. my first truee love. He kept giving me stares, and used to nudge his friends as if they knew that he liked me whenever I was near. He gave me so many signs (plus tons of my friends saying he obviously liked me and to ask him to prom, yada yada yada).

So I did, and what did I get? Pure rejection saying he had a girlfriend and that if he didn't have one, he would have gone with me. When I went to ask him if he wanted to go to prom, he looked at me like all scared like I was gonna bite or something.. like I was gonna kill him or something. And he seemed extra nervous because his eyes kept darting back and forth around my eyes.

He is going to be a high-school senior this year and I WAS a senior in highschool LAST year, ready to go to prom, but I guess he didn't care either way if I was leaving or not and graduating.

Yet, he stil continued to look at me everyday still after he rejected me I don't get him (cant figure him out) and afraid I never will, therefore, I have forgotten about him as just a thing of the past. The way I look at it is that he had his chance to be with me, he blew it, now it's done and over with. If he wants to be a jerk about it, then I don't know why I even started liking him in the first place if it was going to take this much of a toll on my life. I am GLAD that he is finally out of my life now =]

P.S. He used to be a close friend but we stopped talking all of the sudden.. it all just got kinda awkward because I think we knew that we both liked each other I guess.. not sure what to do now

Pytanie #3:

why are my guinea pigs so scared of me?

I have two guinea pigs; honey and willow.
They are about 9-10 weeks old we got them from a pet shop about a week ago and there was a cage with about 10 of them inside it. The pet shop owners said that they were both girls, she was very certain about it adn that they were about 8 and a half weeks old.
We brought them home and put them in my indoor cage in my bedroom but left the box in there that we brought them back in just whilst they settled in to their new home.
We didn't handle them on the first day but have been so for the past few days. Not too muc though.
We managed to get hold of them- they're very fast and had them in our living room. They seemed to be growign on me and sniffing my feet and letting me pet them but then they tried to escape and we had to grab them quickly. They now seem like they were, petrified and won't let me touch them at all.
I even put my hand a little close to them and they dart to the other side of the cage and huddle togtether- they seem very protective and one of them keeps jumping on its back but sideways or from the front?
I don't speak loud infront of them and whisper their names.
They really seem to like the sound of money and music they purr when they here it.
I had a guinea pig before but not from as young about 12 weeks old and that was on her own. I don't recall her beeing as scared as this and it got so i could coudle her and put her outside and she wouldn't run off
has anyone else experienced this?
Please hel[p and give me some advice.
they weren't with their mother in the pet shop

Does inertia apply to individual electrons?

Does inertia apply to individual electrons? Then, how can electrons dart around in their electron orbit? Is it because of the nucleus?

My Chem teacher won't answer my questions anymore. She says I ask too many.

Pytanie #6:

PLEASE HELP!! Whats wrong with my cat?

PLEASE HELP!!!! Last night we found my cat way up in a tree, terrified and meowing like crazy. We brought her in and she was really scared for about 10 minutes then she started foaming at the mouth and became very mean. She was hissing and her eyes were darting back and fourth and her head was kinda twitching. After about a minute, she got all normal again. This happens about every five minutes or so. She is eating by the way. We're keeping her in a kennel with a blanket to maybe calm her down, but its not working. It shouldnt be posisble for her to have rabies cuz she had her shot a few years ago, but the vet wont see her in case she might have it. I don't know whats wrong. If you know anything, tell me.
What i dont get is, the vet wont see her in case its rabies, but if its not and shes just sick, then how are we ever gonna figure it out if we cant take her in?

Pytanie #8:

My story needs clarifying.?

I need to know if you get the story, it's set in past africa.

I was tracking the boar all night…it was close…I found fresh droppings not too long ago and now stared at a tuft of hair caught on a thorn bush. “The boar is close,” I whispered to myself. In the darkening maw of the jungle, the moans, yelps and soft laughing of all the surrounding beasts was intoxicating as it further fueled my ravenous hunger, “I can smell him now.” Suddenly, something darted though the bushes! In a frenzy, I dashed through the thicket of the jungle after the shadow only to be blocked by another echoing wall of darkness. Recovering myself, I blindly stooped down and pressed softly against the earth under me. The well known tracks were easily recognizable. “The boar is close” I hummed again to myself. But it was too late. I had hunted for too long and I convinced myself that this was “Another fruitless night of hunting”.

The sun started to come up as I slowly decided to return to the village with hope that I would get something to eat there. Because I was hunting alone I kept myself low in the tall grass to be safe until I arrived. There is a road to the village, but I do not take it anymore, it has become dangerous with rumors of cold blooded killers that will put your head on a pike just to show bravery for their own village. It was still fairly dark as the sun was halfway up the horizon while the small village gradually came into view. I went up a hill and walked past one of the small shacks in the back of the village, then hurriedly ran past the doorway when I heard children crying as a man was beating a woman. Then I came up close to the shack in the center of the village and slowly went inside. A crippled old man was facing a fire quietly tending to the first food of the day while humming the ancient song in honor of his ancestors. Life had left his body a shriveled remnant of what it had once been, but the glow of life, the same you would find in a newborn, still resided in his actions.

Just then! Somebody ran by the shack and let out a terrible scream! The village was under attack! The frail old man only had seconds to look up at me as I quickly grabbed him and took him out of the village. I could already see all the men getting their spears and the women and children running into the bush where they would be safe. There was shouting and people scrambled as spears were thrown in all directions, but none hit its target, we were safe. Finally, we got far enough away from the chaos so we could slow down. I set the old man down by the base of a splintered baobab tree as I caught my breath. I looked at him, he did not say anything although I could see his shock over what had just happened. His eyes quickly paced back and forth as he looked over my face, his mouth was paralyzed in fear, he did not move. Then I let out a deep rumble from my jaws, humming to myself in pleasure, and ate.

I changed it after somebody didn't get that it was a lion/beast at the end that grabbed the old man. I was trying not to give the reader a hint that this was the point of view of a beast but make everything add up in the end.

Pytanie #9:

do stefans shoot out of the original nitefinder barrel?

I just got home with a new bag of FBR (foam backer rod) and I have just made stefans for my modified nerf nitefinder and my new stefans did not go far (shorter than tagger darts) and I was wondering if stefans only shoot well out of pvc because I was using the original dart barrel. So does it only shoot out of pvc?
Oh and if it helps I'm using frost king brand FBR.

Pytanie #10:

Ugh...what do you think of my writing?

Okay, this is the beginning of some story I'm never going to work on again. However, it's a good example of my writing style, which is what I want critiqued here. Again, I want your opinions on my writing, not the story!

Please refrain from simple answers like, "It's good!" "It sucks!" "You fail at life, go die!" I'd like to know the reasoning behind your thoughts. :3 (Also, this is a first draft, so I expect you to find mistakes.)

Here goes:

I kicked off my shoes as I entered the room and fell onto the couch. My face landed in a pillow; I didn’t even bother to move from the mildly uncomfortable position. It had been a long day, a very long day, and all I really wanted to do was spend the next ten hours being dead to the world.

“Kylie!”

I groaned as a very energetic twelve-year-old landed on my back and started shaking my shoulders. I tried to swat him away, but my pitiful attempts failed to bring the desired result.

“Jake, go away,” I mumbled into the pillow. “I’m not in the mood.”

“Come on, Ky, you told me we’d go play soccer tonight,” he whined.

I rolled over and glowered up at him. He was a heartbreaker in the making, with wild brown hair that refused to be tamed and large blue eyes that looked completely innocent, even when he was in the middle of replacing your shampoo with a ketchup-mustard-soy sauce combo.

“Can’t we go tomorrow?” I complained.

Jake shook his head and grabbed me by the wrists to haul me to my feet. I went limp to hamper him with dead weight, but he compromised by dragging me off the couch to the space between the dust ruffle and the coffee table. I stayed there, immobile, not caring that my face was mashed into the carpet and the leg of the table.

“Nooooooo,” I droned.

“Yeessssss,” he answered, now pulling my ankles. “I’ll drag you out to the car!”

“Don’t you dare touch my car,” I warned him. “Keep your fingers off my Camaro.”

He immediately let go of my ankles and began backing toward the door.

“I’m gonna put fingerprints all over the windshield,” he told me. “And I’m gonna dump that weird bowl of mac’n’cheese in the back of the fridge in your backseat!”

I was on my feet in an instant, tackling him to the ground as he turned and made for the kitchen. We wrestled on the carpet for a minute or so before I pinned him to the floor with my six years of extra weight.

“Okay, okay, fine,” I panted as he lay obediently underneath me. “Go get the ball while I change.”

“Okay!” he replied happily. He leapt to his feet and darted to his room when I released him.

I made my way more slowly to my bedroom, my feet aching from my sixth night in a row of working. The last thing I really wanted to do that evening was to play soccer with my hyperactive little brother, but it was either that or come home on the night of our parents’ return from vacation to find the house completely trashed and my butt on the line. With much weariness, I shed my work clothes and pulled on instead a pair of gym shorts and an old t-shirt that was already covered in grass stains from past excursions to the soccer field.

“All right, pooper-scooper, let’s go!” I called as I strode down the hall. He emerged from the kitchen, piece of cold pizza in hand, while I was slipping on my sneakers.

“Uh-uh, put it back,” I said, pointing to the kitchen. “I’m not letting Mom and Dad chew me out because you couldn’t keep your paws out of the leftovers.”

“Aw, come on, Ky!”

“No. Eat an apple if you’re that hungry. Go, put it back.”

He groaned and dragged his feet back into the kitchen. I watched him return the pizza to its box and come back to the entryway before I opened the door and ushered him onto the driveway.
@Veronica: Of course it's boring. It's a brother and sister arguing about playing soccer...that's not exactly something people pay money to see. XD Content isn't the point here, structure is.

@*MissUndead41: I have to admit, "badass" is not a way my writing is typically described. XD Thanks!

@J: You're right. I can totally see where the dialogue needs work. Thanks for pointing that out; I'll keep an eye on it. :3
@smkeller: Thank you. :3

@XXsailorsaturnXX: I know it's boring. Not everything I write is dull, this is just supposed to be an example of my writing style. X3 But thank you!

By the way, could all future answerers please give me advice on how to make my writing better? I only have myself as an editor, and I'm a bit biased. ^^;
@Lindsay: Yeah, Jake should probably be eight or ten; I'm not good with writing young kids at the proper age. It's why I don't usually have characters under the age of fifteen. D: Of course, my brother is twenty-one and still acts like Jake, so I probably had him in mind when writing this. XD
Del, I missed you! I love your critiques. :3

You warned me about overwriting last time; I guess I didn't listen! I'll definitely try to be wary of it from now on.

This actually has a short preface that pretty much told the reader it was going to be some sort of dark fantasy, but I didn't like it, so I didn't bother to include the thing.

Pytanie #13:

Gentlemen, I'd like your input?

Let me tell you about myself. I am in my early twenties, I earned my first college degree when I was seventeen, and I am studying to become a phlebotomist and am currently majoring in theatre. My friends say I'm attractive (in a Morticia Addams kind of way) and amusing, and my family loves it when I cook (especially this honey-mustard glaze chicken I make). I am in the process of forming a band, and I spend my free time dancing and fencing. What I would like to know is this. Why haven't I met someone who likes me for me? Is something wrong with me? I'm still a virgin, not because virginity is important to me but since I haven't met anyone I want to sleep with, but guys I date treat me like that line from the song User-Friendly," "I'm not in love, but I'm gonna fuck you, til somebody better comes along," only we don't have sex, just making out. Am I really that disposable to them? I used to think that maybe my standards for men were too high (I want a guy who makes me laugh and will protect me if i need him to. It would be amazing if he also fenced, knew how to tango, played darts and held similar religious beliefs). Then I started to wonder if maybe the standards I set for myself are not high enough. Maybe I'm just not a good catch like my friends tell me, and they're just trying to make me feel better. Should I just be a stupid, obnoxious, giggling, vapid whore? I'm starting to think that is really what guys want from me, because that sure seems to be the kind of girl the guys I like tend to go for.

Pytanie #14:

Is my filter too fast?

We set up a tropical fish tank 4 days ago and introduced 2 guppies and 2 mollys today. 1 guppy has already died (it started swimming upside down and then went lifeless before darting around the tank and getting blasted by the filter too and then passed away completely - all the while upside down) The other looks like it's on it's way out too. The mollys look fine. Could this be because my filter is too powerful? The guy in the fish shop sold it to me with the tank but it seems to have a strong stream of air from it. Im concerned it is actually killing my fish. Please help. Thanks

Pytanie #15:

Okay how to write like Stephanie Meyers (read up Harry Potter Fans)?

First off grab the nearest children's dictionary (you know the ones with the pretty pictures) and throw a few darts at the words throw together in one of those big things they use to pick out lottery numbers roll it up pull out the words to pick the order and then for every other word throw about oh say 50 extremely simple adjectives (remember they have to be about how hot the people are they CAN NOT be the slightest bit ugly because well let's be honest ugly people don't exist.) Oh yeah throw in your dreams of how a relationship should be (which is gender controlled and abusive of course.) and then pointlessly throw in a good mythology and then sh!t on it.(really because fans would realize the relationship was sh!t without) Oh and if that doesn't work take out the mythology and sell the story to lifetime.

Pytanie #16:

Is there an iphone/ipad app that lets you take out some steam on someone?

Somewhere along the lines of, messing with their picture...throwing darts at it...burning it... Virtually doing stuff to it, sort of like a stress reliever... ;) Any suggestions?

Pytanie #17:

does this guy like me?

Okay so this is an odd question for me to ask. But okay here i go , i sorta like this guy a little bit and i dont know if he likes me . here are the clues .
okay so the first clue , i was sitting bored leaning my cheek aginst my plam with my eyes closed , when i opened my eyes i saw him looking my way and i looked away . the second time i was bored again and leaning back against my chair , when i noticed he was looking my direction. We kept eye contact for about 2 seconds befor i looked away . i looked again and he looked a little nervouse but still calm as his eyes aimlessly darted to side to side untill he settled down . then at lunch he sat infront of me (he usually sits in the first seats with his friend and i sit in the middle by my self ) we talked a little bit , heres what i remember saying
me : "you have algebra ?"
him: "yeah ," looks down , fiddles with fork and brings his face up with a small smile "how did you know ."
me: i point at the kid next to me and say " i was suppose to have algebra too but my old school couldnt prove it so the gave me normal math ."
okay and the 3rd clue , yesterday friday , i was on the bleachers and he ended up sitting right in front of me 3 rows in front of me and he turned and glanced at me 3 times during the whole time we were there , thay same day i was working and glanced at him and he was watching me , w kept eye contact for about 6 seconds befor he looked to the side(for less than a second) and looked at me again and i looked away and didnt look again . his arms were neatly folded and laid against the table and he was sitting up straight . then later after lunch i was walking back and the door was about 2 feet opean , i reached out to keep it open and my hand was less than 2 inches from the door and he quickly turned around and reached out and caught it for me and kept it open.
so thats whats happened so far , i ve only been in his class a week (i got a schedul change) and so next week will be my 2nd week in there , oh and i am new too the district too , so i am a new student in school .
so what do you think does he like me or is it too early to tell or does he not like me ?
oh , i forgot to add in he's real quiet and serouse most of the time .

Pytanie #18:

I nearly went to the emergency room because of this?

I just had a baby 4 weeks ago through C section. I know my doctor has told me that I should of course take it easy until I've had time to heal. Well tonight I was out in the garage with my husband and parents playing darts. I don't have very good dart throwing form, so instead of just using my arm, I tend to twist my body in the effort of throwing a dart. After throwing a few darts I had sat down for a little while, and during that time I started to have some pain just underneath my chest around my ribs (I mean, directly underneath my breasts). It felt like I had pulled the muscles under there. I just sat there while the pain continued to mount and I was feeling worse and worse. Finally, someone suggested I go inside and lay down until the pain goes away. That only made it worse.

I laid down on the couch and the pain only became horrible. I felt like I could barely breathe because the muscles underneath my chest were compressing so tightly. It felt like a knife being jabbed into my ribs. I was gripping my husband's hand and gasping with pain while the tears ran from my eyes. I seriously thought I might pass out from the pain because it didn't feel like it was abating at all. Finally my dad came in and told me we were going to the hospital. I was helped out of the house still doubled over in pain.

On the way to the hospital the pain finally eased off and eventually was gone completely. I was left with only a dull ache in my back directly behind where the original pain was. I couldn't believe how much pain I had been just experiencing. So we turned around and went home. My mom told me it was because I had pulled the muscles in my abdomen too suddenly and that I hadn't used those muscles in 9 months from being pregnant. What do you think? Has this ever happened to anyone?

Sorry it was so long.
Well she's not a doctor but she is an RN. And she's had three children and experienced similar situations in the past after giving birth.

Pytanie #19:

I'm 14 years old and am writing a murder mystery. Does this beginning interest you?

It was a crisp, clear, January morning when the villagers of Benton spotted him.

He was alone, his hands shoved into the pockets of his trousers, his black coat buttoned up to his neck. His face was long, and narrow, his copper-colored hair getting tousled with each gust of the bitter wind. Fear lurked behind sparkling green eyes that contrasted against a sprinkle of faded freckles across his nose. He stepped lightly through the un-plowed city streets; his pair of highly priced winter boots, laced up neatly over his feet, making the slightest crunching sound with every step he took through the snow that had fallen the night before.

The people of Benton did not often walk the streets alone. The town was bursting at the seams with young families and children. But because of the very expensive university located a few miles away, they were used to young, arrogant college students strutting through the city as if it belonged to them. The townspeople barely lifted their eyes to such people nowadays, simply deciding to ignore them.

However, this man seemed oddly out of place to those who gave him more then a once-over glance. He was handsome, but his sunken cheeks were gaunt and shallow as if he had experienced many troubles throughout his young life. His eyes darted every which way, and the villagers who were slightly more observant noticed easily that the collar pressed up against his neck was not only to shield himself against the winter air, but to hide his unfamiliar face from those around him.

The man walked, as nonchalantly as he could, past an old bookstore, a small but busy little market, a toy store decorated in greens and reds for the Holidays, a movie theater, a few apartments, and a flower shop. His eyebrows threaded together just slightly as he approached the end of the road, as he had not yet found whatever it was he was searching for.

Suddenly, he turned to his left, his eyes running over an old, dark coffee shop with only a handful of costumers inside. He gave a quick glance over his shoulder, his lips tightening just a tad as he proceeded towards the entrance of the little shop.

A bell chimed as he swung the door open, a gust of hot air spilling over his face. He stepped inside, and as his eyes adjusted to the different light, he listened to the calming sound of china getting stacked behind the counters, the low hum of the costumers’ voices, and a loud ancient-looking TV in the corner set on a News station. He blinked a few times, his numb fingers fumbling to unbutton his jacket.

His gaze swept over the people of the shop. A few teenagers were sitting on the couches, sipping hot chocolate and laughing. An older couple, most likely grandparents, were sitting at one of the round tables reading the paper. A middle-aged man was working behind the counter, using a rag to clean a mug. A father and his son sat on the tall barstools near the counter, their mittens resting on an empty seat beside them.

Near the corner, a long window looked out at the streets. An inviting “open” sign and backwards writing on the glass spelled out the name of the place. A few more round tables were also situated near the window.

At the farthest table, sat a girl.

The man near the door stood frozen, his gaze now locked to her face.

She was daydreaming, her chin rested in her hands, elbows mounted on the table, her eyes squinted and a little unfocused. Her head was turned towards the window, peering out towards a group of children playing in the snow, the light shining delicately across her face.
The man was perplexed at first, for this did not look like the person he had expected to see. He had expected a straggly, dirty woman, wearing tattered black clothes, dark finger polish painted over her already unhealthy nails, her exhausted, bloodshot eyes hidden behind a curtain of greasy red hair and gothic-inspired makeup, and a too-thin, frighteningly frail body. He had expected to see a girl who drew everyone away, but instead, he was faced with a woman so breathtakingly beautiful that he could not keep his eyes off her.
The first thing he noticed was her face. For once, he was able to see it. In place of stringy, thin locks, the woman now styled soft, lightly colored red hair that cascaded out of her headband and down her shoulders. Her dark blue eyes were so much prettier now that they were not smudged with black charcoal makeup. Her skin had always been pale, but he could tell immediately how much healthier it looked. Instead of patches of dark skin here and there, a warm, pearly-white color glowed evenly from every pore. Her usually colorless mouth was somehow replaced with full, pink lips.
The most surprising thing – to someone who hadn’t known her as well as the man did – was probably her wardrobe. She was wearing a casual, long-sleeved blue t-shirt with a lengthy, homemade white scarf and nicely fitting black corduroys. Second hand black snow boots were strapped onto her feet underneath the table. A gray winter coat hung loosely on the chair behind her, and white mittens that matched the scarf were resting on the tabletop.

The man realized he had not yet breathed, he had been so amazed. He took a long, deep breath, his eyes never leaving the woman.

“Sir? Would you like a cup of coffee?” the worker behind the counter asked, looking curiously at the frozen man. The man curtly shook his head, and then realizing the rudeness of the gesture, added, “No thank you, not now,” and the worker returned to cleaning the mug.
The exchange between the two men had stirred the woman in the corner from her daydream, and her eyes flicked away from the window and around the room. She sat up, straightening her body and letting her hands fall to her lap. Her round eyes suddenly found the man’s.

Yes, it really was her. His heart swelled with joy. How could it be? Was it really possible that the drugged up girl he had used to know was now so… clean? Her beauty was memorizing – he never wanted to look away. He smiled dazzling at her, a smile that would have made any sane woman blush. But a sad, almost nostalgic expression never left the girl’s face.
Her hand made the slightest movement in her lap, and the man’s gaze was broken. He looked down at her hands, and his mouth opened just a little. A gasp escaped his lips and as soon as his eyes made since of what he was seeing, he was dizzy with pain – he felt as if someone had punched him in the gut. Kicked him in the back. Slapped him in the face. He felt his swelling heart shattering to pieces.

The woman’s hands were resting at the bottom of an enormous sized, well-rounded bump protruding out of her belly.

The man’s straight posture faltered with utter, horrifying surprise, and his shoulders suddenly sagged along with the rest of him.

The woman, who had been watching every moment of his awful realization, bit her lip, her eyes filling with tears. A shudder ran through her body, and her head collapsed into her hands. The man could not hear it, but he knew she was weeping.
Although moving was quite difficult, as his limbs were shaking, he hurried over to her side without hesitation. He dragged the empty chair on the other side of the table towards her and sat down into it. He nervously reached out and touched the woman’s shoulders. Before he knew it, she had fallen forward into his arms, sobbing. With a shaking hand he stroked her hair, his eyes wide with complete fear.

“Oh, Danny…” she clutched at his jacket.

He couldn’t bring himself to say anything but gentle shhhh’s. After his mind stopped spinning enough for him to take control of his voice, he leaned toward her and whispered,

“Is it… mine?”

She nodded weakly into his chest, and the man’s eyes stung with bitter tears.

“Henrietta… Why – Why didn’t you tell me? When did you find out?” He was trying to be comforting, but his voice came out like ice. He mentally counted back the months.
She sat back in her chair, and Daniel released her. She wiped her eyes with the blue sleeve of her shirt. Even when crying, with her eyes red and swollen, she still looked prettier then Daniel had ever seen her before.

Her lip quivered. “I found out a few weeks after we broke up. And… I tried… I – I tried to call you, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it, Daniel,” she paused to search through his eyes. She blinked and more tears dripped down her face. “You’re mad at me.”

Daniel took a deep breath, his heart racing. He looked at her hard in the eyes. “I’m not mad at you. This is my fault. I’m just…” it took a long time for him to think of the right word. It was as if his brain and mouth weren’t even connected anymore. “…Surprised.”

The two sat in silence for a while. One in complete shock, the other in a horrible, self-conscience state. Daniel suddenly noticed her insecurity, and he grabbed one of her hands.
“Henrietta… You are so beautiful,” he gulped back tears. “You’re… sober?”

She nodded. “Once I found out I was pregnant, I stopped. Everything.”

“That mustn’t have been easy.”

“It wasn’t as hard as I would have thought. When you have a reason, a real reason…” She looked back at the children outside. “Nothing else matters.”

Daniel followed her gaze outside. “Do you live here now? Benton?”

She again nodded. “My parents kicked me out of the house when I started showing. I had been trying to keep it a secret while I tried to figure out what to do… My aunt lives here. She’s a professor at the university. She took me in.”

Henrietta’s watery eyes filled with gratitude.

Daniel shook his head. “Henrietta, if only I had known sooner… I could have found a place for you to stay, with me, with my family…”

The woman’s eyes darkened. “That – That wouldn’t have worked.” She said simply, and Daniel realized how right she was. His family hated her – no, detested her.

“When are you due?”
Her eyes softened immediately, her hands subconsciously touching her stomach. “A month.”

This was another blow for Daniel. He tried not to act shocked, but it was all over his face… Henrietta somehow willed away the tears, being strong for the both of them.

“What is it?” He asked, quieter then anything else he had said that day.

Henrietta smiled sadly. “A girl.”

When the words left her lips, the world went silent. Daniel’s mind was consumed by the realness of the situation. It wasn’t a dream, no, it was realer then reality itself… The seriousness of the situation flooded his mind. He was going to be a father. A baby girl… His baby girl… Was going to be born in a month. Just one month.

“Can I?” He asked as if in a dream, his voice cracking, gesturing with his hands to touch her stomach. She nodded, and he carefully placed one of his palms over her expanding torso. With his gentle touch came a fluttering kick in response, confirming the young life within.
At this, Daniel broke into tears. He covered his eyes with a single hand and cried.

Henrietta pulled him towards her, and his already limp head fell towards her blossoming stomach. She placed her hands comfortingly around him, leaning her head against his. He felt her shaking, too. She had also succumbed to tears.

“I’m with you now,” he said quietly through quiet sobs, both to the baby and its mother. “I’m not gonna leave you. We’re going to find a way to make this work. I’ll do anything. Anything. I promise.”
A little while longer, the man needed to leave. Before he did, he stood up and hugged the woman with more love then he had ever felt before. Before now, he hadn’t known what love was… He thought he had loved the girl who stood before him, now a woman, but all he had felt then was lust and desire. Now he could truly see what an amazing, courageous person she had turned into, the sacrifice she was making. He could feel the shattered pieces of his heart fixing themselves, with more strength then ever. He was scared to death, yes, but that didn’t matter… He knew he would do anything.

He forced himself to exit the shop and walk back where he had come.

*******************************************

It was a crisp, clear, January morning when the villagers of Benton spotted him. He was alone, his hands shoved into the pockets of his trousers, his black coat buttoned up to his neck. His face was long, and narrow, his copper-colored hair getting tousled with each gust of the bitter wind. Fear lurked behind sparkling green eyes that contrasted against a sprinkle of faded freckles across his nose. But there was something else, now, too… The people who looked were not quite sure of what it was. A mixture of hope, and faith, and determination and courage. Love, but sadness also, deep, deep sadness…

He stepped lightly through the un-plowed city streets; his pair of highly priced winter boots, laced up neatly over his feet, making the slightest crunching sound with every step he took through the snow that had fallen the night before.

The people of Benton did not often walk the streets alone…

Why are people so afraid to correct their dog in public?

I recently took my pug to swim at a local state park. The dog area was nice, it was all fenced in and there was even a spot where only small dogs could go (25lbs or less). The swimming area was all lumped in together though and soon after we took him into the area, a much larger dog came in to swim. This was all fine, my dog barked a bit but eventually sniffed the other dog and carried on with his swim. Soon after that, the larger dog started darting around and spooked my little pug, who took it upon himself to bark at the dog to let him know he was uncomfortable. That's when things got a lot worse. The large dog began to chase my dog and eventually were running in circles around my husband's legs. When he reached down to pick up our pug, the other dog bared his teeth and scraped my husband's arm. The owner was standing like 10 ft away the entire time and never (not ONCE) called his dog back and didn't even scold him for chasing my dog. Once the large dog lost interest in eating my dog, the owner silently opened the gate and walked out. I mean, COME ON! If your dog is chasing and growling at another dog, wouldn't you at least call for them to get them to stop? Or am I just expecting too much from people? A dog that agressive should have never been allowed to enter an off the leash dog area. Especially with smaller dogs present. What do you think? Should I make a fuss and call the state park? Or should I leave it be and just never be comfortable taking my pug anywhere again? And furthermore, why do people keep such large dogs as pets and feel confident enough to let them off leash when they're terrified of their own dog?

We have a larger audience to address, in a compter voice
"Press 1 or 2" in some confusing choice.

You always arrived early, often stayed quite late
all your co-workers have said, "she was great."

'Severance pay' such a cruel term

Be well as you go, the security man will escort you out
you'll find other work, I have no doubt.

Perhaps an order taker at a fast food farce place

Are you ready to listen to the Austrian School of Economics yet?

Watching economists and media analysts react to breaking economic news is a bit like looking at a flock of pigeons flying over the New York skyline. A true wonder of the urban landscape, the flocks can include hundreds of individuals who show an uncanny ability to stay in tight formation as the group quickly zig-zags between buildings. What may be even more remarkable than their ability to randomly fly while maintaining cohesion is the flock's refusal to stick to any particular direction for very long, and their determination to fly feverishly without actually going anywhere. Sound familiar?

Today's weak GDP numbers have finally caused the mass of economists to revise downward their formerly optimistic recovery forecasts, with many finally entertaining the possibility of a "double dip" recession. It should be obvious by now that these economists only have the capacity to describe where the economy is moving in the short-term...they have no ability to explain the reasons behind the macro trends or make predictions that go beyond the next data release. But economics is not dart throwing. It can be understood and properly forecast.

The major mental block is that most economists believe that an economy grows as a result of spending. Any policy that encourages spending and discourages savings and investment is considered beneficial. Unfortunately, these policies, which only succeed in growing debt and government, act more as an economic sedative than a stimulant.

On the subject of the "recovery," I'd like to highlight some of my past predictions, and those of my colleague Michael Pento. With the benefit of hindsight, you can see that although these thoughts were widely dismissed as chronic pessimism at the time of their publication, the current situation supports our conclusions. Although some of our predictions, like for higher bond yields, have yet to materialize.

Michael and I may be birds of a feather, but we don't blindly follow the flock. We believe economics is a scientific discipline with established laws, and that applying those laws will yield fairly accurate predictions over time. Most other economists say what they need to say to do the bidding of their employer (whether Wall Street or Washington) and maintain the respect of their peers. Good for them, but who should you trust when you are making investment decisions?

Are me and my fella complete opposites?

We get on really well and have a lot in common but there's a few things that bother me. I LOVE football, but can't watch it cos he hates it, meaning the last two matches i watched were england losing to germany and the man u tie with fulham (fulham! WTF is going on???). we're looking for a new house to rent cos i'm pregnant and we want our daughter and bump to have separate rooms and i'd like them to have a play room as well. TBH we wont be moving straight away cos i don't think babies should be in their own room until at least 6 months. Anyway we've found somewhere with 3 bedrooms, a box room and 2 receptions, in or budget and near my daughters nursery so it's perfect, but we're arguing about the box room. I want to get a pool table and dart board and mini fridge for it, turn it into a games room, he wants it for drums and guitar, meaning there'd be no space for the pool table, unless he gets an electric drum kit, I've seen one thats perfect and i want to get him it for christmas, but he's only ever used cheap ones so he thinks they're all shit. What can i do? I've always wanted a pool table.
Yes, i do. In fact i am english, from england, and as you can probably tell i am writing in english right now. Do you speak french?
Re-read my question and there's one mistake in there. 'in or budget' should be 'in OUR budget'
My children are my world to me. does having children mean we can't want things as well? I don't see how wanting to have one room as my own is as bad as you seem to think it is, especially as every other room, including our bedroom has been taken over by my daughter and will be by bump. My family always come first.

How can I stop feeling the feeling of anger, frustration, and resentment for someone I care about?

These emotions keep darting through me and it's about a friend of mine, I don't want to feel these but for some reason they're not going away. I'm stuck in the zone of those emotions and I don't want to be there. It's not worth it to me feeling those things about that person anymore. I dont want to feel anything regarding that person at this point in time because itll just be added weight, I just want our friendship to go back to being a friendship without me feeling these negative emotions. She's a great person but still, I still feel them and I dont want to.

How can I get them out of me?
Ken: I've known her for a long time and we just recently came out of a relationship. I felt strongly for her during our friendship but I never called it love or told her I loved her. I dont know if it was love or whatever; but I didn't title it, I just felt it bro.
She doesn't deserve the way I feel about her right now. She doesn't deserve me being mad at her. That's why Im sorry and sad for feeling the way I do right now.

How does this story sound to you?

It's called three little birds. The title has reference to the the ending.

Hanna was sitting in art class, sketching doodles in her sketch book. The classroom was empty, but she had access to the art studio. Mr. Oakley gave her extra permission to use the art studio since she needed extra time on her portfolio if she wanted to get accepted to a real good art school. Her best friends were waiting for her in the library, but she didn’t care. It was a daily routine to be late catching up with them. They didn’t seem to mind. She glanced at the clock in the front of the room and closed her book. She was about to head toward the exit, when she turned around to see Mr. Oakley standing behind her. She jumped and caught her breath.
“I’m sorry, Hanna. Didn’t want to disturb you with your work. You seem to be doing a excellent sketch.” He ran his fingers through his jet black hair and smiled. Hanna smiled and headed toward the door. He gently grabbed her arm.
“Do you mind if you stay a bit? I need some help with something in the back.” Hanna blushed and sat her bag on top of the table. She stared at his bright blue eyes and nodded. He looked like he was a student here at AHS. She followed him toward the back of the room, where he kept all the chemicals and paint and clay. It was another room, much crowded then the classroom. Hanna followed him, and flicked on the lights.
“I can’t stay long. I have to meet my friends in the library. It’s our study period.” Hanna said, shyly. She was always comfortable being around Mr. Oakley, but sometimes she wasn’t. Today she wasn’t.
“It’s fine. Can you help me carry this to the classroom?” He picked up a box of paper towels and paintbrushes. Hanna nodded and passed him. She picked up the box. It was really heavy and made her legs wobble. He saw that she was struggling and offered to help her. He grabbed her waist, and the sudden physical contact made her fall on the cold floor, spilling all the contents in the box. Mr. Oakley chuckled and kneeled down to help her. She was wearing a skirt that reached passed her knees. It had raised a bit, showing her purple panties.
“Let me help you.” Mr. Oakley said. Hanna shook her head and pulled down her skirt. Mr. Oakley smiled and grabbed her wrist firmly. She yanked away. She felt foolish not to let him help her, but something felt off. He ran his fingers against her thighs where the fabric of her skirt didn’t cover.
“Mr. Oakley, I’m fine.” She said. He ignored her and continued to invade her privacy. She sat there, dumfounded. What was he doing? She watched his hands move over her chest and grasp her breasts. The bell ringed, making Mr. Oakley jump.
“I guess I’ll clean this up. You better get to class.” Hanna wiped her eyes and struggled to her feet. She felt like she was a piece of ice, being melted under a lamp.
“Hanna,” He called after her. “It was an mistake. Please, don’t tell anyone.” She nodded and darted out of the classroom, her heart pounding in her chest.

A Possible Substitute For a Blood Parrot Cichlid?

I have a 75 gallon tank that I would like to make in to a community aquarium.

Before telling me that Blood Parrot Cichlidss are not good community fish...I'll stick with the information I received from ** Click Here ** and ** Click Here ** which tell me that, for the fish I want in my community, a BPC will work.

I understand that BPCs are 1) not naturally occurring in the wild, 2) they are bred deformed, and 3) they may suffer health problems due to their deformities. With this, I have an ethical dilemma against purchasing a BPC for my auquarium.

Here's my question: Does anyone know of a good substitute for a BPC? I'm looking for similar qualities in the substitute that can be found in a BPC. 1) Bold or bright coloration. 2) Peaceful in nature. 3) Can live comfortably as the single fish of it's species in a community aquarium. 4) Will reach approx. 8 inches in size. 5) Will not become stressed by being around fast swimming/darting fish.

Thank you in advance!!!

Is this guppy labour?

Two days ago I bought my first guppies. I have a 10 gallon tank with two males and 5 females. Clearly, some of the girls are already pregnant as the next morning I had a baby. I scooped them out as I saw them, until there were ten babies in my fry trap. I could figure out who was doing the delivering... but later I noticed one female was skinnier than she was the night before. I went to see them a few hours ago and there was another baby outside the fry trap, so some else is giving birth. I watched for a long time but couldn't see anyone delivering, or any new babies. There is a big, swelled up female with a very dark gravid spot. I think I see eyes sometimes. For the past hour or so she has been darting around like crazy up and down the tank walls. Sometimes she rests for a second. Is she the mother do you think? Everyone else is acting normally, although some are also pregnant looking. How long should labour last?
Thanks for helping! Yes, she's breathing fast and not eating. This morning she was wolfing her food, but now she's not interested at all.
I put her in a breeding net so she can have some safety from the rest of the guppies. They were definitely chasing her around. Poor girl. She's still swimming around like crazy in there. I turned the light off. Maybe it will help her relax.

Is the formless black mass I witnessed good or bad?

Well here's what happened. I went to a relative's house for 3 days and last night we decided to go ghost hunting. My uncle Sage, who lived on the property passed away going on two years ago and since then there has been paranormal activity in the house. Just yesterday his passport was lying on the floor in a shed, and it wasn't there before then. We decided that he may be trying to tell us something so we did some EVP work in the space he inhabited. We saw shadows on the walls dart around the room and a sensor-operated spotlight activated as if someone triggered it. After about an hour,we went back into the other part of the house and went to bed. I was lying in bed when I noticed a black, formless mass move in front of the door (which was open) and back out into the hall,it never entered the room or attempted any harm to me (To my knowledge) . But it did scare me alot even though it just bobbed in and out of the room's doorway. My uncle was a good man,but even now twenty four hours later I cannot forget what I saw,nor am I able to calm my nerves.I've felt nervous and scared all day, however the animals in the room I was in took no notice of this presence We are of Christian faith, and I was wondering....was what I saw good or bad?
